Guru's Adda (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website gurusadda.com and the Guru's Adda mobile application (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

Our core commitment: We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third party — for any purpose, under any circumstances. The infrastructure services we rely on to run the app (listed below) act strictly as data processors on our behalf and have no rights to use your data independently.

1. What We Collect and Why

a) Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. This is used only to identify your account, provide access to the Service, and manage your AI query credits. This data is never shared with or sold to any outside party.

b) Usage Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4solely to understand how the Service is used — for example, which pages are visited most and how long sessions last. All data collected is anonymised and aggregated. It is used exclusively to improve the quality and performance of Guru's Adda. We do not use analytics data to profile individual users or for advertising.

c) AI Chat Queries (Gyan Sakha)

When you send a question to our AI assistant, Gyan Sakha, it is forwarded to the Google Gemini API to generate a response. Your queries are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers after your request is complete. We do not log, analyse, or share your chat history.

d) Advertisements

The Service may display ads through Google AdSense (website) and Google AdMob (mobile app). We configure these services to serve Non-Personalized Ads (NPA) only. This means:

• No cookies or device identifiers are used to track your browsing history or interests.
• Ads are not targeted based on your past behaviour on our Service or elsewhere.
• Identifiers may be used strictly for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, and fraud prevention.

2. Infrastructure Service Providers

We use the following technical services to operate the Service. Each processes data strictly on our behalf, under contractual obligations that prohibit them from using your data for any independent purpose:

• Firebase Authentication & Firestore (Google) — secure sign-in and storing your account data (name, email, credit balance).
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymised usage metrics to help us improve the Service.
• Google Gemini API — processing your AI chat queries ephemerally.

None of these providers receive your data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the specific function listed above.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

To be explicit, we do not collect or store any of the following:

• Payment or financial information
• Your location beyond the country level (via anonymised analytics)
• Your device contacts, camera, microphone, or files
• Your browsing activity outside of Guru's Adda
• Your chat history with Gyan Sakha

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Your account data (name, email, credit balance) is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time using any of these methods:

• Self-service (web): Sign in and visit the Support Us page — scroll to the “Danger Zone” section and click “Delete my account”. Deletion is immediate after re-authentication.
• Self-service (mobile): Use the “Delete Account” option in the Settings section of the Guru's Adda mobile app.
• By email: Send a request to nrip.mishra31@gmail.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”.

All personal data will be permanently and irreversibly erased from our systems within 30 days of receiving your request.

Note on free credits: The 40 complimentary AI query credits granted at signup are a one-time welcome offer tied to your email address. If you delete your account and sign up again with the same email, the welcome credits will not be re-issued.

5. Children's Privacy

Guru's Adda is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. Because we serve only non-personalized advertisements, no behavioural profiling of children occurs through our Service. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete it without delay.

6. Your Rights

Regardless of your location, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data. To exercise any of them, contact us at the email below:

• Access: Receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion:Request permanent erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
• Portability: Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Opt-Out of Data Sales: We do not sell data, so there is nothing to opt out of.

This policy is designed to comply with the GDPR (EU/UK), the CCPA (California), and COPPA(children's privacy, US).

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Account data is stored in Firebase Firestore, which provides industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Access to your data is restricted to the minimum necessary to operate the Service.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date at the top. Continued use of the Service after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
